I am a developmental cognitive neuroscientist. I seek to understand how (neuro)biological, psychological, and social factors give rise to risk-taking behaviors across (a)typical adolescent development. In my research I combine insights and methods from developmental psychology, decision theory, and neuroscience.  I highly value academic citizenship, am passionate about teaching, and commit to open research practices.

Currently I hold an Assistant Professor position at the CHANGE Research Platform (Children and Adolescents, Neuroscience of Growth and Exploration) at the department of Developmental and Educational Psychology  of Leiden University, the Netherlands

Previously I held a post-doc position at this department, mentored by dr. Anna van Duijvenvoorde. In addition I completed a post-doc position at the Section Youth at Risk (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Amsterdam UMC) as part of the NeurolabNL consortium, mentored by dr. Lucres Nauta-Jansen.

I received my PhD in 2019 from prof. Eveline Crone's Brain and Development Research Center at Leiden University, mentored by prof. Eveline Crone and dr. Anna van Duijvenvoorde.
